José is currently Director of the Financial, Private Sector & Sustainable Development Department in the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the World Bank Group. His responsibilities cover the ex post evaluation of investment operations and advisory services carried out by the International Finance Corporation (IFC); the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA); and the Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Global Practices of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). José has over 30 years of professional experience in academia and international financial institutions (IFIs). His expertise encompasses the appraisal of investment projects, infrastructure Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), IFI results frameworks, and project and policy evaluation of private sector development activities. José holds MSc and PhD degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science; and a Licenciatura en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales from the University of Valencia, Spain
