ACCESS TO ADB

Please enter through the ADB Avenue main gate. You will be required to present valid photo identification (passport, driver’s license, etc.) in order to receive an ADB-issued building access ID. The ID is valid during the duration of the conference and will allow you to enter/exit ADB headquarters through any of its gates.

DRESS CODE:  The dress code for the two-day conference is business attire.

ACCOMMODATION

Hotel for international resource speakers will be at Joy-Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila. ADB has reserved rooms for the resource speakers, and will settle the room rental directly. Room is inclusive of buffet breakfast for one person and internet access. Kindly settle all other charges (i.e., laundry, airport transfers, room service, mini bar, etc.) with the hotel upon checking out. ADB will cover the cost of your accommodation for the duration of the conference (maximum of 4 nights).

Check-in time is 15:00H and check-out time is 12:00H. You may store your luggage with Front desk should you arrive early or leave late. Please approach any of the Front Office Associates on duty for further assistance.  We have arranged for guaranteed early check-in for resource speakers who will arrive early in the morning of 4 December.

ADB headquarters is just across Joy-Nostalg Hotel and about two-minutes’ walk from the hotel (see ADB vicinity map below).

AIRPORT-HOTEL-AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

Please be informed that there will be no complimentary transportation from airport to hotel/hotel to airport.

Hotel-arranged transfers

The hotel can arrange your airport transfers for PhP1,810.00 per way via a compact car. You may pay the fee directly to the hotel. Please let the team know if you would like us to arrange your transfers with the hotel.

For those with pre-arranged hotel transfers with Joy-Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila, please check the Appendix for more information upon arrival at your designated terminal/airport.

Other transport arrangements:

Terminals 1 and Terminal 3

Upon arrival in Manila at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA-Terminals 1 and 3), you may proceed to the International Organizations Desk which is located right after the customs clearance area. Please inform them that you are an ADB guest. An ADB contact person will direct you to the taxi queue (at the Arrival Area) for your transfer to the hotel. The ADB representative will be present from 8am to 11pm. If you arrive earlier or later than this, you may approach the airport transportation desk or proceed directly to the taxi queue or book through Grab.

Terminal 2

If arriving at Terminal 2, please proceed to the taxi queue outside the arrival area. It is also recommended to book your car through Grab.Accredited transfer services on a pre-paid coupon may be taken from the airport to Ortigas Center (where ADB is located) for an approximate rate of Philippine Peso (PhP) 845 (about US$16.00). Accredited NAIA metered taxis (an alternative to prepaid coupon taxis) generally fetch lower rates than pre-paid transfer services.


VISA REQUIREMENTS

You must have a valid passport to travel to the Philippines and is responsible for all necessary arrangements for the application of an entry visa. For visa information, please click this link: https://consular.dfa.gov.ph/visainformation .

Please bring with you the ADB invitation letter, this information note, passport with valid US visa stamped on it (as applicable) and your return ticket to show to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) officer at the point of entry (e.g. airport) to the Philippines. Kindly cooperate and be courteous with the BI officers when you go through immigration control, including picture taking, and presenting the above documents, together with your passport, entry visa (if required to get visa to Manila) and other documentation. Refusal to cooperate or lack of politeness to BI officers may result in denial of entry to the Philippines.

ALLOWANCES

For international resource persons

During the conference, please submit to Marilyn Parra or Carol Ongchangco your original boarding pass/es (to Manila). You will be provided with applicable (i) daily subsistence allowance (less sponsored meals, i.e., breakfast at hotel, lunch, dinner on the first day, and snacks); and (ii) lumpsum miscellaneous travel expense (this covers passport and visa fees, in and out expenses or airport/hotel transfers, travel insurance, medical costs, and other incidental travel expenses. Daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and miscellaneous travel expense (MTE) will be handed out during the conference. Should the actual cost of in and out transportation expenses exceed the lumpsum MTE, please submit the receipts and we will reimburse you based on the actual cost.

AIRFARE REIMBURSEMENTS

For ADB-purchased tickets, please submit the receipts for the cost paid for rebooking/rescheduling your flights due to flight cancellations (if applicable). ADB will reimburse you based on the actual cost.

For non-ADB purchased tickets, please also submit a copy of the air ticket, original receipt/credit card statement indicating the air ticket payment receipt, and boarding passes (if not purchased electronically; otherwise an e-copy will do). Non-ADB purchased airline tickets will be paid through bank transfer after the event, and subject to ADB’s benchmark rate (or actual amount, whichever is lower) after submission of above documents.

Upon your return, please submit to Marilyn Parra, mparra@adb.org, your scanned return boarding pass/es (from Manila). Please retain remaining original copies with you for future audit.
