Overview Transport systems across Asia and the Pacific are at a critical juncture. Governments face increasing demands to improve connectivity, safety, and system performance, while ensuring that transport investments deliver sustained economic and social benefits. In this context, open dialogue and practical exchange among policymakers and practitioners are essential to translating priorities into effective action. The Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum 2026 builds on the Asian Development Bank’s long-standing role as a trusted platform for transport sector dialogue, capacity development, and knowledge exchange. Convened biennially since 2008, the Forum brings together ministers, senior officials, transport practitioners, and development partners to examine shared challenges, exchange experience, and explore solutions grounded in real-world delivery across the region. The 2026 Forum takes place at a defining moment, as ADB’s developing member countries enter the early implementation phase of the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035). Under the theme From Priorities to Action, discussions will focus on how policy direction, financing approaches, technologies, and institutional capacity can be aligned to support implementable transport projects and sustained results.
