3rd Virtual Brown Bag Seminar: Tools and technologies in
addressing
water-related disaster and climate impacts
30 August 2023, 2:00-3:30pm (Manila time), Wednesday

Most disasters are water-related and climate change is increasing their frequency and severity. Floods, landslides, storms, heat waves, wildfires, extreme cold, droughts and waterborne disease outbreaks are all becoming more frequent and more intense. These lead to loss of lives and livelihoods, damage to infrastructure, as well as negatively affect the economy.

This webinar will discuss the importance of tools and technologies as adaptation solutions in managing water-related hazards. Invited speakers from private companies will present examples of emerging and innovative solutions for increased water sector resilience.

This is the 3rd webinar under the virtual brownbag seminar series on Tools and Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management in Asia and the Pacific co-organized by the Asian Development Bank with the Government Japan’s Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Trade, Economy and Industry. This webinar is also the 2nd webinar organized in collaboration with the ADB Water Resilience Hub’s e-Marketplace.
