FAO’s booth will showcase the value of linking social protection, climate action and agrifood system transformation agendas to promote resilient rural livelihoods. Rural households do not experience poverty, climate shocks and agrifood system risks separately. The booth aims to show the benefits and pathways through which governments, donors and implementing partners can connect these three agendas that are often still managed separately. Social protection protects people, but when connected to climate action and agrifood systems, it can also support durable solutions that enhance livelihoods, promote access to productive assets, build long-term resilience and connect recipients to local markets and even job opportunities.
