Helping Save Lives from Road Crashes in Asia-Pacific -
Webinar series on Safer Road Infrastructure in
the Asia-Pacific
8–24 February, intermittently (GMT+8, Manila time)
Introduction
The Decade of Action for Global Road Safety 2021–2030 sets a target of halving road deaths and injuries. The Global Plan, adopted in 2021, aims to inspire national and local government, as well other stakeholders who can influence road safety (including civil society, academia, the private sector, donors, community and youth leaders, and other stakeholders) as they develop national and local action plans and targets for the Decade of Action.
This 5-part webinar series will focus on safer road infrastructure recommendations of the Global Plan, sharing knowledge, tools and case studies that will help countries eliminate high-risk roads, unlock the economic benefits of 3-star or better roads, and meet global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and United Nations (UN) Target obligations.
The series combines two capacity building initiatives:
Participants will have the option to undertake a practical assignment that involves assessing their jurisdiction’s preparedness to implement the safer roads recommendations in the Global Plan, identification of priority actions and responsibilities and key barriers that need to be addressed.
