CAIP Forum Objectives
The Climate Adaptation Investment Planning Forum 2025 (#CAIP2025) will bring together selected developing member countries, development partners, financial institutions, private sector, and global climate funds.
#CAIP2025 will allow participants to:
- Share experiences on climate adaptation investment planning, and in the process inform and influence global processes;
- Showcase tools, methodologies and case studies of different steps within the CAIP process; and
- Discuss key enabling factors and priorities for operationalizing and scaling adaptation investment plans.
#CAIP2025 will build on lessons gained over the past year on key components of the CAIP process and their interconnections, including how decision-makers can be supported to strengthen:
- system level climate risk analytics to develop programmatic adaptation investment packages;
- investment prioritization tools, including economic analyses, to strategically identify and sequence investments along adaptation impact pathways;
- finance-matchmaking to leverage public and private finance for investment in adaptation; and
- enabling environment practices that support transformative adaptation.
A core focus for #CAIP2025 is creating spaces that encourage dialogue and understanding between different ministries, private sector actors and development partners on differentiated needs and challenges. Sharing experiences and lessons for operationalizing, institutionalizing and scaling adaptation investment planning will be a common thread of discussion.
