K-water is a government-owned company established in 1967 to manage the country’s water resources through the development and operation of multipurpose dams and to provide safe and clean water through the operation of bulk and local water supply systems nationwide. Through the development of ICT, many water-related devices (whom now we call “Smart water devices”) have been invented. These ICT technologies, software and devices have been integrated into K-water’s own “Smart Water Management (SWM)” system. K-water’s SWM was developed by engineers who have actually operated and maintained water-related facilities, to suit the needs of every operator and engineer.

K-water would like to have this opportunity to introduce to you our practical and effective SWM system which takes into account the unique and diverse water characteristics of Asian countries.

IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management)
To pursue and ensure the sustainable development of reliable water supply, K-water has developed IWRM to manage the entire water cycle from source to tap. 

The IWRM system enables operators to manage water resources more efficiently using real-time data of water-related characteristics such as rainfall, river flow, turbidity, etc. for entire basins.

Water - NET
For local water supply systems, K-water has built an ICT-based operation system to acquire, monitor and control all relevant data on a real-time basis. The acquired data are analyzed in terms of water quality, quantity and energy management to provide safe and uninterrupted service to consumers.

K-water Overseas Projects and SWM
Beginning with a survey of the Fenhe River in Shanxi Province in China 1994, K-water has accumulated its own expertise in the overseas market. Related to SWM, K-water had established IWRM systems in Cambodia and Myanmar while studies have been conducted on the feasibility of applying SWM to local water supply systems in Indonesia and Malaysia.
