We are inviting government officials, water utilities, technology solutions providers, vendors, and institutions and development professionals seeking for smart and innovative water solutions to join our e-Marketplace.

The first e-Marketplace on 15-19 March 2021 aims to serve as a dedicated venue and platform to help spearhead digitization for smart, resilient, safe, sustainable, and inclusive rural and bulk water services delivery in Asia and the Pacific.

Scope of Smart Water Technologies

The scope of the exhibited solutions will not be restrictive and will revolve around the smart water technologies in rural areas or bulk water services delivery for cities and rural areas. Some examples include but are not limited to:

  • Smart meters, level and pressure gauges, vibration sensors, and other Internet of Things sensors to monitor water quantity, quality and infrastructure assets; 
  • Smart pumps, valves, filters, dosing pumps, and other smart devices using data to control, regulate water handling, and maintain equipment and, pipelines;
  • Geographic information system tools, pipeline tracking systems, leakage management, and asset mapping;
  • Supervisory control and data acquisition systems, web and mobile- controlled data acquisition, cloud services, management information systems, data warehouses;
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematical modelling softwares, and other data analytics solutions for smart water management;
  • Customer information systems, grievance systems, domestic meter reading, and mobile network services; 
  • Use of renewable energies, energy efficient and low carbon smart water management technologies; 
  • Climate change and disasters resilient water management solutions including flood forecasting and early warning systems; and
  • Digital tools on aspects of rural and bulk water services delivery such as inclusive human resource management, institutional capacity strengthening, awareness raising, community participation and community-led approach, gender equality, and green job creations related to water technologies and services.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility

ADB ensures an equal and fair opportunity to all applicants. The submitted EOIs for the first e-Marketplace will be selected by an ADB Technical Committee based on:

  • relevance of smart water technologies to safe, sustainable, smart, resilient, and inclusive water supply in rural Asia and the Pacific;
  • innovativeness and value addition; and 
  • operational feasibility and scalability in the rural development context.

The following are eligible to send in EOIs and be considered for the virtual exhibition and interactive sessions:

  • Companies, vendors, public or private institutions with credibility in the market; 
  • Small or large companies, vendors, public or private institutions with relevant smart water management products or services; 
  • Companies, vendors, public or private institutions that are willing to work with ADB’s developing member countries to ensure safe, sustainable, smart, inclusive, and resilient water supply services and management; and 
  • Companies, vendors, public or private institutions that have already been selected or awarded at similar ADB events.

Please send in EOI on or before 3 March 2021, 5: 00 p.m. (Manila time).

Please note that due to limited slots available for the interactive sessions and exhibitors, not all applicants may be selected. It is at the sole discretion of the technical committee to select the exhibitors, and advise the remaining eligible companies to participate in the future e-Marketplaces.
