Technology Profile

Solar water solutions for water intake from borewell/Surface

Relevance: Grundfos solar water solutions provide reliable water supply for crop irrigation for farmers, livestock watering for ranchers and game parks, domestic water supply for homes, and community water supply for remote communities and informal settlements.

It consists of a broad range of proven products that build robust and reliable solar water supply systems with long product life, low maintenance, and manageable service requirements. A highly optimized Grundfos solar water solution offers low risk for your investment with low operating costs and no energy costs.

Innovation and value addition: There are many areas where Grundfos' submersible solutions are unmatched in the market. A complete solution combines a stainless-steel SP submersible pump, an MS/MMS motor made to match the pump, a dedicated electronic motor protection unit or variable speed drive, plus a remote management system. Put together, you get a significant savings potential.

The SP Controller app provides real-time control of your SP solution. When you open the SP Controller app on your smartphone, the ‘Connect’ button will appear when a Grundfos product with Bluetooth is in range. You are then able to check your submersible pumps in seconds – helping you track and manage issues in real-time.

Grundfos’ AQPure, a solar energy-based water treatment plant

Grundfos’ AQPure is an automated water treatment solution that works on solar power, designed to provide drinking water, even in remote locations. It is a prefabricated and modular water treatment plant that provides a reliable and affordable water supply.

AQPure is capable of supplying water to inaccessible and isolated areas where secured and cost-efficient drinking water systems is a rarity, making AQPure an ideal solution for Jal Jeevan Mission’s ambition to provide tap connections to over 191 million rural households in India by 2024

In India, AQPure has proven to be a success in the drinking water industry, after fruitfully operating for more than 3 years in Hingalganj, West Bengal. The system was resistant to heavy winds blowing at speeds of 150 kilometers per hour during the Amphan cyclone and provided drinking water to 2,500 villagers. Following this, West Bengal witnessed eight more installations of AQPure systems in the state, which currently serve 15,000 people.

Grundfos Demand-driven distribution system

Urban water loss is a major challenge for water distribution networks around the world. Grundfos offers a smart and cost-effective pressure management solution to ensure a stable water supply.

Grundfos supplies pumps and controls to cover a wide flow range within water distribution systems from the high flow requirements of distribution from main pumping stations, the medium and low flow requirements within the distribution pipe network from local pumping stations, and the pressure zoning with increased pressure for specific network areas from in-line pressure boosting stations.

Furthermore, precision management of pressure uses data from critical pressure points within the pipe network via intelligent self-learning controllers linked to network pressure surveillance. Our dosing and disinfection solutions ensure chlorination in the distribution network.
