  • Please allow sufficient travel time between your home and the airport to ensure you meet the airline’s recommended check-in time.

7.     Internet

Access to internet is complimentary at the hotel and at the venue.

8.     Shuttle between the airport and your hotel

By Taxi:
Most likely you will find taxis lined up in front both of the Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and the Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Always make sure to follow the signs to “Public Taxi”. Here you should insist on using a metered rate, which will add up to about 250-300THB for the complete transfer.

By private limousine:
However, you can always pre-book a private taxi service by mail by sending a message to booking@splimousine.com. This company is used by the GIZ office in Thailand. The transfer will cost you maximum 950 THB one way (approx. 26 EUR).

In the case of taking a private taxi service without pre-booking, make sure you arrange the transport fare previous to departing with the car, and do not agree to more than 900THB.

The taxi drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) should take about 40 minutes depending on traffic. The drive from Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) should be about 45 minutes.

To avoid confusions, clearly state the hotel name and the address to the driver prior to departure and prior to agreeing upon a price.

9.     Transfer between Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn and KX Center

The transfer from the Eastin hotel to the KX Center will be done by public transport and takes approximately 20 minutes. The Silom Line departs directly next to the hotel. The stop is called “Surasak”. Take the Silom Line in the direction of “Bang Wa” and exit at the 4th stop “Wongwian Yai”. The cost for the ride is 28 THB, the tickets can be purchased at any Ticket Issuing Machine (TIM), Integrated Ticketing Machine (ITM) and Ticket Vending Machine (TVM).

12.     Weather information and time zone

November is an enjoyable month to visit Bangkok because the city is drying out from the rainy season and it's not stiflingly hot. The average temperature will be around 29°C.

Afternoons can be hot with average high temperatures reaching 31°C.

Overnight temperatures are generally mild with an average low of 24°C.

Humidity is around 67%. Ensure that you take regular breaks from the heat, apply SPF to protect your skin from the sun and drink lots of water.

In addition, there tends to be a high presence of insects such as mosquitoes. The risk of Malaria and Zika in cities like Bangkok is very low but cannot be completely excluded. There is a higher risk of Dengue fever and Chikungunya fever. These diseases are carried and transmitted by mosquitos day and night. Please make sure to bring a mosquito repellent and to cover your skin.

The standard time zone will be the UTC +2 hours.

13.     Plugs

Be aware that in Thailand Power outlets most commonly feature two-prong round or flat sockets. You might therefore need a plug-adapter.

The following plugs are used in Thailand. The standard voltage is 220 V at a frequency of 50 Hz

14.     Currency

The Currency in Thailand is the Thai-Baht (THB). The current exchange rate (Oct 23) is:

1 Dollar = 17.71 THB
1 Euro   = 19.63 THB

Please note that exchange rates vary.

15.     Health information

If you need to take regular medications, we kindly ask you to bring them in sufficient quantities.

If you come from a country with risk of yellow fever, please do not forget to bring your vaccination record with you, otherwise you may not be granted entry to the country.
