Our support network comprises of distinguished policy makers, academicians and intellectuals from diverse backgrounds who play both advisory and consulting roles. Our Solutions Innovative Solution has been providing various types of Data and Information System Solution, here we are presenting a product developed for managing sanitation service “Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS)”. The Integrated Municipal Information System (IMIS) is an Information System developed to catalyze Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) outcomes. Today, 55% of the population lives in urban areas, a proportion that is expected to increase 68% by 2050—adding another 2.5 billion people to urban areas with close to 90% of the increase taking place in Asia and Africa, (UN DESA, 2018). Managing sanitation systems and services have been very difficult due to this growth, as a result, achieving SDG 6.2 is a great challenge for governments and urban local bodies. CWIS is a Framework initiated by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to achieve SDG 6.2. Data and Information is key success factor for successful implementation of CWIS. UN Water SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework has also identified data and information as one of the five key accelerators of SDG 6 outcomes. The main objective of IMIS is to establish data and information-base for planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation of the city’s sanitation system and services. IMIS is a convergence of Web, Mobile, GIS technologies, and the business process of sanitation value chain. It brings innovation in a city’s overall sanitation system and services, and fosters good governance. IMIS maintains most of the sanitation data in real time, mainstreaming a city’s business process with sanitation value chain. IMIS also maintains several datasets by integrating data from multiple sources scattered among different stakeholders. The system provides an interoperability feature to integrate inter-department and national database systems such as the National Dashboard of SDG 6.2. IMIS has been established in four towns of Bangladesh for efficient Planning, Management and Monitoring & Evaluation of sanitation system and services. Eight towns in Madhyapradesh, India has implemented IMIS data framework for suitability analysis of sanitation system and one town in Nepal for Life Cycle Cost Analysis in selecting a sanitation system. There is increasing demand of IMIS in the region. |
