About Bhumijo

Bhumijo ensures access to hygienic public sanitation for all in Bangladesh. We started our journey in 2017 by creating the country’s first women-only toilet at Gausia market, Dhaka. Bhumijo specially cares for women children and differently abled. Our focus on business sustainability ensures that urban poor will continue to receive sanitation services without disruption.

Bhumijo believes that having access to a clean toilet is a human right. No woman should be worried about public toilets while out. Public toilets should be clean and usable when needed. The job of providing clean toilet service should be dignified and valued. Bhumijo envisions to end the public toilet crisis all over Bangladesh by 2030.

Bhumijo works with the government in providing this essential public service. Our partnerships allow us to build and operate on government land. We also partner with private land / building owners to deliver public toilet service. Bhumijo works with private businesses to ensure sustainability of the service.

Bhmijo’s services include consultancy service, development and operation of public toilets:

Bhumijo Wash Center

Bhumijo facilities include male toilets, urinals, wash stations, drinking water, separate female facilities and differently abled-friendly toilets with wash stations. Besides these, the facilities also include diaper changing stations, ablution and leg washing areas. Additional features include provision of showers, laundromat services and refreshments. The facilities are equipped with smart entry, feedback, and security system. Video, static and audio advertising spaces are available both inside and outside the facility.

Research, Design and Construction

Our expert team of architects, urban planners, urban designers and researchers at Bhumijo provide consultancy services for various projects. Our expert management team also provides construction management service.

Cleaning and Maintenance Service

With core expertise in toilet management, Bhumijo provides cleaning and maintenance service for offices, hospital, shopping mall, airport, railway and bus stations.
