Recognizing the gender dimensions of disasters is essential for developing effective and equitable strategies to reduce vulnerability, accelerate sustainable recovery, and enhance resilience of all members of society.
The ADB’s economic research, gender and disaster risk management teams, with the support of the Singapore Office and the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore, are organizing an international workshop in Singapore on 20-21 February 2025.
The workshop will explore three main cross-cutting themes in the context of developing economies like Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka: (1) progress on gender integration in disaster risk management frameworks; (2) data driven risk and impact analyses; and (3) finance and insurance solutions.
Policy makers, policy advocates, researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders will gather to exchange insights on gender-specific risks, impacts, and solutions.
The workshop is open to online participants; please register here.
