Part 2: Enhancing the Magic: Cooking with MicrogreensCooking Demo |
Session 1: Microgreens are referred to as superfoods because they are not only delicious and packed with intense flavors but also highly nutritious, rich in antioxidants, and are easy to grow. Learn how to grow them in your own kitchen. You and your family can harvest and feast on broccoli, alfalfa, mizuna and radish kaiware in 5-7 days after planting! Session 2: Microgreens are more than their flavors and appearance. Scientific studies show microgreens have more than 20 times the nutrients of mature plants. Learn from our resident chef how to turn your newly harvested microgreens into superfoods for your family.

 |
Hilda Cleofe |
Hilda has pursued development work focused on disaster risk management, emergency preparedness, environmental conservation and corporate social responsibility for 30 years. She joined ADB as Senior Security and Emergency Services Officer (CSRS-SE) in September 2012. Prior to ADB, Hilda served as Executive Director of Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) and American Chamber Foundation. She took her Master Program in Development Management at the Asian Institute of Management and completed her Bachelor Degree in Human Ecology at the University of the Philippines Los Banos. Hilda’s passion and advocacy on organic farming and gardening paved the way for the development of the Luntiang Republika Ecofarms. She and her husband turned the property they acquired in 2011 into an ecofarm which is now a certified organic producer of various vegetables and fruits. They also raise livestock, practice crop rotation, composting and conservation tillage, among others. The farm located at Alfonso, Cavite abides with the couple’s guiding philosophy: Nature provides for everything but there should always be a balance - what is taken needs to be replaced.
