Luc Lavrysen is Master (1979) and Doctor (1997) in Law of Ghent University (Belgium). He was Law Clerk at the Belgian Constitutional Court in Brussels and State Councilor (Justice in the Supreme Administrative Court). He was appointed in 2001 as a Justice in that Court. Since September 2020 he is President of the Court. He was at the same time scientific researcher, academic counsel and visiting professor at Ghent University in the domain of environmental law. From February 1998 till September 2021 he was part-time full professor in environmental law. He was director of the Centre for Environmental and Energy Law and chief-editor of one of Belgian’s leading environmental law magazines. He is now an professor emeritus. He is President of the EU Forum of Judges for the Environment and member of the board of the Global Judicial Institute on the Environment. |
