Integrity is Our Superpower

| Marites Dañguilan Vitug will deliver a 30-minute presentation on her experiences as an investigative journalist in the Philippines. She will explore how she and her fellow journalists have contributed positively to Philippine society and highlight the challenges that still persist. With firsthand experience of national judicial processes being weaponized to intimidate activists and the damaging impact of institutional corruption on developing societies, Ms. Vitug will also share insights into the positive changes that investigative journalism can bring. She will discuss key techniques she has mastered throughout her career, which are also relevant for international investigators in their pursuit of the truth. These include asking open-ended questions, building trust with sources, conducting thorough research, verifying information, remaining adaptable, and maintaining objectivity. Following her presentation, Ms. Vitug will engage in a 15-minute Q&A session with a moderator, followed by up to 15 minutes of audience questions. |
