Norio has been Senior Sector Director of the Water and Urban Development Sector Office at ADB since June 2023. He leads and oversees operations that support livable cities, water security, circular economy, and urban resilience in all regions where ADB operates. Norio has 31 years of professional experience, including 17 with ADB.
Previously, he was director of the Urban Development and Water Division in the South Asia Department, and deputy country director in the Viet Nam Resident Mission of ADB. He has a PhD in environmental science from Ibaraki University, Japan and a master of environmental management from Duke University, USA.
