The conference is organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), in partnership with a distinguished university cohost from the region.

The fifth AEDC will take place 13–14 June 2026 at the campus of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong, China. The conference will showcase cutting-edge research on key development issues shaping the region, offering participants the opportunity to engage with new ideas, emerging evidence, and policy insights at the frontier of development economics. Keynote speakers are Ruixue Jia (Professor, University of California-San Diego), Wolfgang Keller (Professor, University of Colorado-Boulder and Visiting Professor, HKUST), and Albert Park (Chief Economist, Asian Development Bank).
