The Asian Economic Development Conference (AEDC) is an annual research conference organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and an esteemed university cohost from Asia.
The fourth AEDC will be cohosted by the ADB, ADBI, and Peking University (PKU) on 3–4 July 2025 at the PKU campus, Beijing, People’s Republic of China.
The objectives of the conference are to promote high-quality, frontline research on major economic development issues relevant to developing Asia and the Pacific and to foster knowledge sharing among social scientists, development practitioners, and policymakers. Keynote speakers are Xiaoyan Lei (Professor of Economics, National School of Development at Peking University) and Nancy Qian (James J. O’Connor Professor of Managerial Economics & Decision Sciences and Co-Director of Global Poverty Research Lab at Northwestern University).
