Prof. Dr Sunil Kumar Joshi is a well-known person in Nepal in the field of Occupational health and injury prevention. Currently, he is Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Kathmandu Medical College (KMC). He teaches undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD, PhD) medical students at KMC. Prof. Joshi has been involved in injury, violence, and disability prevention activities in Nepal since 2006, serving as a National Consultant for the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal. His activities were focused on assisting the Nepal Government in formulating policies, strategies and action plans in injuries, violence and disabilities prevention. Prof. Joshi is the Nepal Director of Nepal Injury Research Centre (NIRC), which is a part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR, UK) Global Health Research Group on Nepal Injury Research.
