Mr. SATTYA Boran is the Deputy Director of the Department of Road Traffic Safety at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Cambodia. Since 2014, he has been actively involved in a range of national road safety initiatives, particularly those focused on improving road user behavior, promoting safer road infrastructure, and enhancing the quality and reliability of road crash data.
Currently, Mr. SATTYA oversees the Road Safety Audit Office within the Department, where he is responsible for evaluating road safety conditions, conducting audits, and ensuring that infrastructure projects comply with safety standards. In addition, he serves as the Head of National and International Relations at the General Secretariat of the National Road Safety Committee (GSNRSC), where he plays a key role in coordinating with stakeholders, development partners, and international organizations to align Cambodia’s road safety efforts with global best practices.
Mr. SATTYA has contributed significantly to the amendment of the Law on Road Traffic, and has been deeply involved in the development and monitoring of the National Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety in Cambodia. His work supports Cambodia’s commitment to reducing traffic fatalities and improving road safety outcomes in line with the United Nations' global targets.
