Mitieli is the Senior Superintendent of Police in the Fiji Police Force. He has been appointed recently as Chairman of the PICP RSP. He has spent the past 30 years in a range of operational policing roles domestically and internationally. He has a strong background managing strategic role in Traffic Policing in Fiji as he is the Director of Traffic in the Fiji Police Force. Between 2005 to 2006, Mitieli was the Senior Traffic Officer at the United Nations Mission in Liberia, (UNMIL). In 2023 he took over the Director Traffic Position in the Fiji Police Force. This role saw Mitieli partnering with Road Safety Pacific and a member of the Australasian Road Safety Programme in the last 2 years.  Mitieli has held various position in the Police Force like Director Operations and Director Community Policing.
