Charles Melhuish

Charles M. Melhuish has more than 50 years experience of multimodal transport policy analysis, sector assessment, project appraisal and evaluation particularly in the Asia Pacific region. Following 10 years with a UK based firm of transport consultants he was employed by the ADB for 24 years where he was primarily engaged with transport economics and policies across the region. As the Lead Transport Sector Specialist he was responsible for leading ADB transport sector policy and knowledge across the institution and lead the institution’s work in key emerging transport policy arears such as urban transport, road safety, air quality and climate change. For the past 16 years he has operated as an independent consultant providing transport economics and policy advice to MDBs and bilateral agencies in the region. For his innovative work in road safety, he was awarded the IRTE Prince Michael Award for Road Safety in 2004.
