Hannah Kimani
I am a meteorologist with extensive experience in weather and climate forecasting. I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in meteorology from the University of Nairobi. I produce high impact forecasts at various time scales. I co-produce impacts and advisories for climate sensitive sectors at the national level. I contributed to the development of the regional standard operating procedures for the Lake Victoria forecasts which target the vulnerable communities in the Lake region. I co designed and co-developed the Nairobi County forecasts that targets the vulnerable communities in the informal settlements. Am currently heading the World Food Programme led project on strengthening Early Warning Systems for Anticipatory Action where we are assessing the skillfulness and sustainability of developing a cloud-based Machine Learning post processing system for improved high impact weather forecasts
