The in-country consultation will take place on 6 March 2024 in Nadi, Fiji. It will focus on the government’s feedback on the draft policy including the 10 Environment and Social Standards (ESSs) and allow for more in-depth discussions of country level issues including challenges in the implementation of the ESF. The government representatives are expected to articulate their country’s official comments or feedback on the draft ESF.
Participants will be coming from relevant ministries and agencies involved in implementing safeguards requirements including those involved in environmental protection, climate change, occupational health and safety, land acquisition and resettlement, labor and working conditions, indigenous peoples.
