The ADB-IEA Innovative Policy Research Award promotes the application of innovative empirical research in economics to support evidence-based policies for addressing key development challenges in Asia and the Pacific.
Research papers should offer empirical evidence on advancing global and regional public goods in areas of relevance to ADB’s operational priorities, which include: (i) addressing remaining poverty and reducing inequalities; (ii) accelerating progress in gender equality; (iii) tackling climate change, building climate and disaster resilience, and enhancing environmental sustainability; (iv) making cities more livable; (v) promoting rural development and food security; (vi) strengthening governance and institutional capacity; (vii) regional cooperation and integration. Impact evaluations are particularly encouraged.
