Ernst Rauch, a Geophysicist by profession, joined Munich Re's Geo Risks Research Department in 1988. During his career with Munich Re, Ernst always worked on natural hazards and climate change risk management, business development and asset management topics. In January 2018, Ernst was appointed as Chief Climate and Geo Scientist. His area of responsibility also includes business development activities with public and supranational organizations under the umbrella of a “Climate & Public Sector Business Development” unit.  Ernst is a member of the senior executive management team of Munich Re.
