Dr Hazwan is currently the Head of Healthtech Hub at MRANTI, an initiative that was recently launched in September 2022 to facilitate the advancement of homegrown innovation in various healthcare areas. MRANTI is an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Malaysia with a given mandate of accelerating commercialization of local technology in Malaysia. Previously, he was the Program Director for Digital Healthcare Cluster with Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology (CREST) Malaysia where he oversaw various digital healthcare initiatives such as the I-Connect Health & Wellness program. Prior to that, he was the Program Manager for CREST Prototyping Grant, a program that was established and managed by him from ground up. Dr Hazwan has a PhD in Engineering (majoring in Electronics) from the University of Cambridge and an MEng with first class honours from the University of Sheffield, UK.
