This project investigates the impacts of Covid-19 and related policies on households in ASEAN economies. Surveys of impacts on household income, employment, financial coping behavior, consumption and childrens’ education were carried out in eight ASEAN economies (1,000 households per economy) in May-July 2020. The paper will summarize the results of the surveys and also analyze the factors that determined the size of the impacts, such as the severity of the lockdown measures. The objective is to develop policy lessons for future pandemics and related types of disasters.
