Impact of COVID-19 Outbreak on Livelihoods and Food Security in Rural Bangladesh: Evidence from a Panel Data

We have conducted two waves of a mobile phone survey in Bangladesh in late June and September 2020 to construct a panel of about 2,300 households in all the 64 districts in the country.  This paper reports our findings from the data about the challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic by households mostly in rural areas in their income generating activities, such as crop production and selling, diary business, poultry or fish farming, and cottage industries, and remittances from household members working in large cities or abroad, and also about what they expect from their government
