| Highway, Schooling, and Occupation Dynamics: Evidence from Tracking Surveys of Filipino Families over Four Generations
This study investigates how the enhanced connectivity has affected the changes in occupation and education. Using tracking surveys in rural Philippines, we find that higher exposure to newly constructed highway increased years of schooling over the generations. The substantial evidence implies that the transformation of the land use and subsequent occupational choice in the former agrarian villages leads to a significant increase in educational investment.
