Big data on food delivery transactions in PRC from Alibaba’s Local Life unit are used to track and assess the economic impact of COVID-19 on the online platform’s consumers and merchants. This descriptive analysis will look into the role of digitization in providing market solutions when traditional food supply chains have been challenged.  We also examine how the online platform can strengthen business resilience among participating MSMEs and support service continuity for consumers.
